The April 26th meeting of CHI-A will take place in the Center for New
Media Research and Education at Georgia Tech. Dr. Janet Murray, Professor
and Director of Graduate Studies for the Information Design and Technology
Program, will provide an introduction that will be followed by the presentation
of thesis projects by graduating students.
Topic: Tour of NCR

NCR will host the May 22nd meeting of CHI-A in its newly renovated facility.
In addition to a formal presentation on some of NCR's hardware, software,
and work process design and evaluation activities, CHI-A members will
get guided tours of NCR's new, two-cell usability lab and unique Visitor
Center as well as demonstrations of a variety of hardware and software
development projects.
Topic: Our Future in the World of Pervasive Computing

CHI-Atlanta will co-host our June and July meetings to explore how the
emerging world of pervasive computing will impact our work with "user
interface design" and "architectures." The importance of this meeting
encouraged us to identify an appropriate site - The Inforum and home to
Sapient.
Topic: Our Future in the World of Pervasive Computing, Part 2

The July program of CHI-Atlanta will be a follow-up on our very successful
panel discussion on Pervasive Computing. This month we will host smaller,
informal discussions with experts who will take our questions in a more
casual format. We'll be dividing up our attendees to enable each of you
to have an opportunity to explore issues in depth with our experts.

By designing for our colleagues with disabilities, we are ultimately designing
for everyone. Such a simple statement and disability experts Christopher
Lee with the state of Georgia and Arthur Murphy with IBM will help define
the new federal guidelines for disability access.
Topic: Next-Generation User Experience Evaluation Tools

User testing is a must in any application development cycle. The challenge
is often developing a holistic view of user experience for different populations.
