Speaker(s): Paul Bryan, Usography
Location: IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group)

Behind every web site interaction, behind every click on a business-oriented web site, is a real-life setting. That setting, or context, encompasses both obvious and hidden factors that cause users to select one path over another, or one product over another. Ethnography is a research methodology that helps web design teams understand the real life context that drives online behavior and needs.
Paul Bryan of Usography has led ethnographic research projects for some of the largest companies in the U.S. In this presentation, he explains his project planning approach and research methodology.
Directions & Parking:
IHG is located across from Perimeter mall, off Ashford-Dunwoody Rd, just outside 285. Turn into Ravinia Parkway (at Hammond Drive) and go past the Crowne Plaza hotel. Take next left turn onto Ravinia Drive.
Attendees can park in visitor parking. Just past the tall office building (3 Ravinia) is a sign for visitor parking. Park in the deck and take a parking ticket (you won’t have to pay when you exit).
Walk to the parking deck elevators. Take the elevator to level 1 if not already there. On level 1, go through 2 sets of glass double doors into the lobby / oasis. (If you see palm trees you’re in the right place). Go to the far end of the lobby to get to the security desk & elevators. Sign-in at the CHI*A table in the lobby next to the elevators, then head up to floor 20.
